 Welcome Friends ~

Get your calendars and mark them now:

YOU are invited to a RECEPTION  honoring the 2008 Campaign Volunteers of Frederick County beginning at 6:30pm on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 4--
one month to the day after our glorious victory!

Come to the Best Western LEE-JACKSON to congratulate your friends and comrades who did so much in so many ways over so many months to ensure the triumphs of Barack Obama and Mark Warner--and to celebrate a return to sanity.

This is a purely social occasion that the FCDC Executive Committee has decided to substitute in place of our final general meetings this year. Expect some souvenirs, a cash bar, perhaps a raffle, and finger food.  To swell the menu you may bring along some favorite tasty delight if you wish--but the important thing is that YOU COME.

Our purpose is  to show  appeciation to the loyal, generous, committed workers who answered the call (and who in all probability will be called upon again, let's be honest!)

PLEASE NOTE:  While the Executive Committee will do its best to contact everyone who participated, tell others whom you know were active in the campaign, and let us know who is coming by calling or leaving a message 667-0867 (DeArment).

Join us in marking a truly momentous event by seeing the joy in the faces of our compatriots!

Warren

PS   NEXT GENERAL MEETING:  January 15, 2009.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

The FCDC meets monthly at 7:15pm every THIRD THURSDAY  in the community rooms of the Frederick County Public Safety Building, 1080 Coverstone Drive,  Winchester.  The PS building is located just past the Corps of Engineers complex on Prince Frederick Drive, off Route 50 East.

Be proud to be a democrat.  Be active.  Get involved.

"One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is
that you end up being governed by your inferiors."  - Plato

We are not a country governed by the people.  We are a country governed by the people who participate. - Thomas Jefferson

"The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all."
-- President John F. Kennedy

How much is a billion?
Every time you hear a politician use the word “billion” ($1,000,000,000.00) in a casual manner, think about whether you want the "politicians" spending YOUR tax money.
A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.
A. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
B. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.
C. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.
D. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.
E. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes,
at the rate our government is spending it.
